The consultancy, which will be based in London, will specialise in strategic communications, advocacy and investor relations. It also plans to open offices in Dublin and Monaco.
The initial leadership team will be made up of senior executives with expertise across investment banking, surveying, reputation management, marketing and public affairs.
Teacher sold Blackstock to Monfort in 2022. The firm’s client base included private equity firms such as Apache, TDR, Fiera, Orion, and MARK, alongside major institutions like Blackstone, Macquarie, L&G, and M&G.
Lauder, who started his career with DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield), previously led the real estate team at Goodbody.
Prior to joining Goodbody in 2016, he headed the market consultancy team at the Investment Property Databank before it was acquired by MSCI in 2012.
Teacher also worked with Investment Property Databank, supporting its founders as a consultant in driving its profile and valuation.
“Investors need trusted advisers who can provide market intelligence and independent advice from genuine lived experience across different cycles,” Teacher said.
“Having advised many leading investors since 2006 in every sector of real estate, now is the right time to combine my expertise with Colm’s to fill the gap between strategic communications and investment banking advisors. I have enjoyed building teams, with many of Blackstock’s talented alumni spread across the market.”
Lauder added: “We see a gap between where traditional investment banks operate as trusted advisers and conventional communications companies. We plan to use our technical understanding of real estate and capital markets to help translate what our clients do more clearly. Whether you are a banker, analyst or chief executive, your principal job is storytelling.”
The leadership team will also include chief operating officer and co-founder Claire Bedouin; research director Stephanie McMahon; associate partners Laura Gibson and Shirin Iqbal; and senior consultant John Cronin.
