Noida woman says Rapido delivery agent sent her ‘I love you’ text, company responds

A Noida woman accused a Rapido delivery partner of sending her an inappropriate message. Despite her warning him that she would file a police complaint, the delivery partner appeared unfazed and asked her to go ahead and complain.

Geetika Srivastava shared screenshots of the alleged conversation on LinkedIn, raising concerns about women’s safety, customer privacy and the professional boundaries delivery partners are expected to maintain.

Srivastava wrote, “Being a woman in this country is tough, but apparently now you can’t even book a single Rapido parcel delivery without being harassed by their delivery guys.”

According to Srivastava, the interaction began when the delivery partner messaged her asking how she was. He then allegedly sent her an unsolicited “I love you” message.

She told him not to contact her again and warned that she would approach the police if he called or messaged her again.

In the screenshot shared by Srivastava, she wrote, “Vapas call ya msg kiya to police ko complaint karenge. (If you call or message again, I’ll complain to the police.)”

Instead of backing down, the delivery partner allegedly challenged her to make a complaint against him. He responded, “Ha kardo. Jao. Rapido me kar do. (Yes, go ahead. Make the complaint. Go and complain to Rapido).”

The alleged response became a key part of Srivastava’s complaint. She questioned why the rider appeared confident about facing a complaint and whether such behaviour would lead to any consequences.

Tagging Rapido co-founder Aravind Sanka, she wrote, “Look how confident he is, telling me to complain. Does that mean he suffers no consequences? What sort of riders have been employed by the company?”

Rapido responds to the woman’s complaint

Rapido responded to Srivastava’s LinkedIn post and asked her to share details of the ride so that the company could look into the matter. The company commented, “Hi Geetika, we are sorry to learn about the unpleasant experience you faced during your Parcel Delivery ride. We understand your concern regarding the reported Captain’s behavior, and we take such matters very seriously. Customer safety, dignity, and respect are our top priorities. Kindly share the Ride ID along with your registered mobile number via DM so we can assist you further. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and look forward to your response.”

The LinkedIn post drew attention from several users, with many focusing on the delivery partner’s alleged response to the police warning.

One user wrote, “The brazenness here is terrifying. And the fact that Rapido has shared a cookie cutter response is alarming. Would love to know if they’ve shared any details of what action they’ve taken beyond lip service.”

Another user questioned whether action by one platform would be enough to prevent a delivery partner from joining another platform. The user wrote, “If he gets reprimanded at one platform, he will choose another. There exists no accountability ,especially on part of the driver. Police integration wrt regulation of serious disciplinary issues is the way forward- dynamic background check rather than one time. Fixing accountability at all levels with certainty of proportional action that fits deterrence.”

A third user advised, “Report this to the cyber cell. Make a practice of clicking the picture of the driver and the vehicle details along with the number. Before you start, make sure to send all the details to someone you can trust. Call that person and ask in front of the driver – have you received the driver photo and the vehicle details. This will push the driver on the backfoot.”

Another user pointed to the rider’s alleged response and wrote, “The audacity to say jao complain kardo (go ahead and complain)!! The entitlement is insane.”
