Tributes have been paid from across the East Midlands after the passing of well-known business owner Tim Downing.
Tim was the co-owner of property consultancy the Pygott & Crone Group, as well as having a stake in Lincolnshire hotel and banqueting venue Hemswell Court and property investment company Downing Investments.
A statement from Pygott & Crone said: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague, leader, and good friend, Tim Downing, Director of Pygott & Crone.
“Tim was more than a director; he was one of the key driving forces behind our growth, a champion of Lincolnshire’s potential, and a trusted partner to so many across the property and business community. His career spanned over three decades, during which he helped shape Pygott & Crone into one of the region’s most respected estate agencies, with a reputation for professionalism, innovation, and integrity.
“As a leader, Tim combined sharp business acumen with a genuine warmth that inspired loyalty and respect. He was instrumental in expanding our commercial property arm, representing Lincolnshire at international forums such as MIPIM in Cannes, and tirelessly promoting investment opportunities that have left a lasting mark on our region.
“Beyond business, Tim believed in giving back. With his support and guidance, Pygott & Crone proudly supported many charities and organisations reflecting his commitment to community and opportunity for all.
“Tim will be remembered not only for his achievements but for his generosity of spirit, his ability to connect people, and his unwavering belief in the power of collaboration. His legacy lives on in the projects he championed, the colleagues he mentored, and the countless lives he touched.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“He will be greatly missed, but his vision and values will continue to help guide us.
