The Opportunity

We’re proud to be partnering with a leading UK Real Estate Consultancy as they continue to expand their regional and national client base. Due to sustained growth, they are now seeking to appoint an Associate Director – Commercial Property Management Surveyor to join their established Manchester team.

This is a key leadership role managing a diverse commercial portfolio, with a particular emphasis on retail property management — including out-of-town retail parks, shopping centres, and mixed-use assets. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class service, driving asset performance, and shaping the strategic direction of both client and team success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of retail, office, and mixed-use portfolios, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Drive asset performance by understanding occupier requirements, enhancing tenant retention, and maximising value.
  • Support and mentor a team of Property Managers and Assistants, fostering a culture of accountability and commercial awareness.
  • Oversee service charge budgets, reconciliations, and reporting in line with RICS and industry best practice.
  • Act as a trusted client contact, developing long-term relationships and identifying opportunities for wider business collaboration.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on departmental growth, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, maintaining visibility within the retail and commercial property markets.

About You

  • Experienced in retail property management, ideally across shopping centres, out-of-town retail parks, and multi-let assets.
  • Strong track record managing complex landlord and tenant relationships.
  • Commercially astute, with an understanding of retailer trading dynamics, service charge management, and marketing collaboration.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • MRICS qualified (preferred) with strong knowledge of property management systems and financial reporting.
  • Proactive, client-focused, and confident engaging with investors, occupiers, and stakeholders.
