Bengaluru: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) Monday recovered a prime parcel of land worth about Rs 12.3 crore at BTM 1st Stage. According to officials, unauthorised compounds and sheds were illegally constructed on BDA property located in Survey No. 50 of Tavarekere village, Begur Hobli, Bengaluru South taluk. The encroachments were demolished by BDA task force under the supervision of the executive engineer, south division, with the support of police.The BDA reclaimed 6,629 sqft of land. Officials said the action was part of a larger initiative to identify and reclaim govt and BDA lands that have been encroached upon across Bengaluru. A senior BDA officer said, “We will continue our enforcement operations to protect public land and ensure such encroachments are not repeated.”The BDA has intensified its vigilance in high-value zones like BTM Layout, HSR Layout, and Koramangala, where several properties have been found under unauthorised occupation.
