“American Idol” star Clay Aiken is bidding farewell to his home in Raleigh, NC. It’s now on the market for $980,000.

The Raleigh native paid $655,000 for the property in 2018. The charming brick house measures 4,277 square feet and has three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.

Built in 1994, the single-level ranch comes with a two-car garage and multiple decks.

The “rare” retreat in North Raleigh includes a living room with a fireplace as well as glass doors that open outside. It also has a light and bright dining area that’s adjacent to the kitchen.

Other highlights include a game room, an enclosed porch, and a room over the garage.

The primary suite features a sitting area and a set of glass doors providing outdoor access.

The 1.24-acre property includes a fenced yard, professional landscaping, a pool with water features, a sun deck, and a basketball court.

Durham domicile

Aiken, an activist and a two-time political candidate, sold a mansion in nearby Durham in 2014 for $1.59 million. It marked a loss for Aiken, who had purchased the 9,392-square-foot mansion in 2006 for $2,361,000, according to Dirt.

After placing second on the second season of “American Idol” in 2003, the fan favorite went on to release a multiplatinum album, “Measure of a Man.” He released multiple records, selling over 5 million albums. He also competed on the fifth season of “Celebrity Apprentice,” in 2012, coming in second to Arsenio Hall.

Aiken co-founded the National Inclusion Project, and in 2003, he became a UNICEF ambassador. He ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2014.

Aiken jumped into the Democratic primary for North Carolina’s 4th congressional district in January 2022, but placed third.
