Commercial Designer/Architect (6+ years experience)

Our Commercial Studio is looking to bring a mid-level Architect or Architectural Designer with 6-10 years of architectural work experience and a strong interest in developing within the commercial realm. Our ideal candidate is interested in collaborating with our team of builders and network of subcontractors and is eager to elevate the design conversation around light and mid-level commercial projects throughout Maine and greater New England.

You can expect to:

Occasionally measure and document existing structures.
-
Participate in regulatory review to verify Local and State codes and regulations.

Be responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
- Coordinate with clients on project needs and find solutions to their design concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs.

Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of small or mid-range commercial projects.

Engage and manage project consultants.

Collaborate with your design team on moving a project forward from Schematic Design toward Construction Documentation.

Depending on experience, manage design teams of 1-3 architects /designers.

Collaborate with Project Manager to allocate and manage architectural design fees. Depending on experience, you may independently manage architectural design fees.

Communicate with our Construction division and other subcontractors to gain an understanding of budgets and schedules that best serve our clients’ needs.

Occasionally develop new or improved techniques and procedures.
Qualifications:
-
4 to 6-year Architectural degree from an accredited Architecture Program

Licensed Architect (preferred)
-
6 or more years of experience in the architecture field

Commercial design experience – must have a keen interest in the Commercial realm

Knowledge and aptitude at using Archicad BIM software (preferred) or other 3D modeling software (Revit users welcome to apply!)

Knowledge of Twin Motion is a plus
