Ocean County Man Sought In Brick Commercial Burglaries

BRICK, NJ — A Bayville man is being sought in connection with three commercial burglaries that happened in Brick in January, Brick Township police said Friday.
Christopher Butler, 35, of Bayville, has been charged with three counts of burglary, three counts of criminal mischief and two counts of theft in the three burglaries that happened from Jan. 10 to Jan. 17, Sgt. Jim Kelly said.
Authorities do not know where Butler is, Kelly said.

On Jan. 10, Jovo’s Deli on Route 88 was broken into, causing just under $700 worth of damage. The burglar took an undisclosed amount of cash, Kelly said.
Cornerstone Dry Cleaners on Yorktowne Boulevard was burglarized on Jan. 11, with damage caused to the back window, Kelly said.

The third burglary was Jan. 17 at Public Storage on Route 70, Kelly said, and about $300 in damage was done to one of the windows, he said.
Each burglary happened overnight and a large rock or brick was thrown through a glass window or door of the business, Kelly said.
Similar burglaries happened in a neighboring town, and Brick Detective Ryan Talty worked with investigators from that department; they were able to identify Butler as the suspect, Kelly said.
