Wellfleet police seek help with June 8-9 incidents along Commercial Street

WELLFLEET — A stolen golf cart and a 2016 Green Subaru Forester have been recovered after being stolen on the early morning of June 9.
Wellfleet police issued a press release on June 9 seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information on the recovered stolen vehicles and any information about several cars that were broken into on the same night.
At the same time, the police reminded property owners be sure to lock up their vehicles and property at night.

At 5 a.m. officers responded to the Commercial Street area for a report of a stolen golf cart and reports of several cars being broken into, according to the press release.

The cart, with damage, was recovered on East Commercial Street.
An initial investigation showed that after the golf cart was dumped, the Subaru Forester was stolen from a East Commercial Street residence. The Forester was found in South Wellfleet at 10 a.m. on June 9.
Both scenes were under investigation.
Specifically, Wellfleet police are asking for information about any witness to a golf cart being driven in the area of Commercial Street between the hours of 11 p.m. on June 8 through 5 a.m. on June 9. Police are also asking for anyone to share security camera footage facing Commercial Street, East Commercial Street, or Main Street.
