Oliver Thomas has joined the Manchester-based outfit as head of building consultancy from CBRE, where he has spent the last nine years as a director.
The appointment sees Edwards Property Consultancy’s headcount reach 12 while expanding its service offering.
Andrew Timms, director at Edwards, described the appointment of Thomas as “a real coup”.
“This is a key moment in our growth story,” he said.
“We recognise that this is an important additional service that we want to offer our clients and bringing Oliver on board allows us to launch it with real impact and ambition.”
Notable projects with Thomas’ fingerprints on them include Hilti’s office at No1 Circle Square and the Royal College of Physicians Liverpool base in the Spine.
As well as new-build schemes, Thomas specialises in asset repositioning across various sectors from office to industrial.
“His track record and reputation in the industry speak for themselves,” Timms said.
“The timing is right — Edwards is entering a new era of expansion, with strong momentum across all parts of the business and Oliver will not only strengthen our offer but also perfectly positions us for the next phase of significant growth.”
Thomas added: “Joining Edwards at such a pivotal time is incredibly exciting. The firm has a clear vision, strong client relationships and an entrepreneurial spirit, which really appealed to me.
“There’s a huge opportunity to build a market-leading Building Consultancy team that adds tangible value for clients at every opportunity and enhances the firm’s overall proposition. We have ambitious growth plans — not just to deliver first-class technical expertise, but to help shape the future direction of the business. It’s a challenge I’m really looking forward to.”
