Portevo launches curated marketplace for management consultancy
A new marketplace has launched for independent consultants focused on management consultancy services: Portevo.
Following an intensive development journey and beta trial validation by multiple clients, Portevo’s platform is now in production and open for both client and consultant accounts.
According to Mark Davies, Portevo’s Chief Product & Marketing Officer, “Portevo creates an entirely new way for businesses to buy consulting services, and for independent consultants to supply those services.”
For clients, “the digital journey starts by helping them ask good questions, using codified best-practices to guide the creation of an effective project brief. Across a variety of disciplines including business transformation, change, customer experience, and sustainability, the platform’s modular approach removes ambiguity at the scoping stage of a project.”
This in turn means that clients setup a project brief that meets their actual demands, and that ultimately, “they only engage and pay for the help they really need,” said Davies.
Once scoped, projects are placed into the online marketplace, where algorithmically matched independent consultants can bid for the work. The client can interact with bidders across the platform, both in-person and electronically, refining bids where necessary, and then selecting and contracting their preferred bid through the platform.
For consultants, Portevo offers both a route to market and a community of practice for those working independently, supporting their ability to work flexibly without missing out on professional collaboration and development.
