Home Prices in Portugal Soared Last Year
Home prices in Portugal saw their largest increase in 30 years in 2022. Sales prices rose 18.7% last year, according to the latest Residential Price Index from market intelligence firm Confidencial Imobiliário. The last time an annual increase exceeded last year’s number was 1991, when prices jumped 18.8%. Some 28 million Americans are looking to purchase a home in 2023, and they’re planning, on average, to spend $269,200, according to a survey from NerdWallet. Unfortunately for them, that’s more than $100,000 short of the median home price, which was $388,100 in December. Sydney House Prices Plummeted at a Record Rate in 2022
Sydney house prices logged their steepest drop on record in 2022, falling 10.9%, or more than A$170,000 (US$119,793), according to a new Domain House Price Report. At a median of A$1.4 million, house prices are now 11.3% below their early 2022 peak, but still 24.2% higher than they were when the market troughed in mid-2020.
