When Marty Fox embarked on a career in real estate as a 20-something fresh out of a commerce degree, one big desire drove his ambition – to have a house to call his own. Growing up, he lived in more than 40 homes and attended seven schools.

“Sometimes we moved up to four times a year,” Fox, 38, tells The Australian Financial Review Magazine. “I had young parents, they were full of love … but just not good with finances. Some people have that stuff down pat, others just don’t.” The instability lit a fire in Fox, who was determined to never be evicted from a property again.
