New Braunfels residents grapple with growth, rising housing costs
When Ross Granzin moved to New Braunfels as a teenager in the mid-1980s, downtown was sleepy, fields of crops stretched for miles and Schlitterbahn waterpark had recently opened.
Now the fast-growing city is teeming with subdivisions, stores, bars and restaurants, including Granzin’s Naegelin’s Bakery, billed as the oldest bakery in Texas.
