Vacant Southampton brokers could become five new homes

A VACANT office building could become five new homes should plans be approved by civic chiefs.
Plans have been submitted to Southampton City Council in a bid to turn the former AE Insurance Brokers offices on Westwood Road into five new flats.
This would include two studio flats, two one-bed flats, and one two-bed flat.
The plans, submitted by Mr Kevan Netherwood of the Clydesdale Group, state that the building has been vacant for “at least three months”.
The six existing on-site parking spaces would be allocated to the new homes.
Each one-bed unit is set to have one space and the two-bed unit will be allocated two parking spaces.
The applicant claims that vehicle movement “at worst” will be “similar to what it was when the offices were in use.
A decision on the plans is yet to be made by the council.
