Birmingham-headquartered professional services group Gateley has launched Gateley Built Environment, combining four property consultancy businesses under a single brand.
The new arm brings together Gateley Smithers Purslow, Gateley Vinden, Gateley RJA and Gateley Hamer. With around 325 people, Gateley said it will be one of the UK’s largest multidisciplinary technical consultancies serving the built environment.
The launch strengthens the firm‘s Property Platform, through which the group will take its legal, technical and consultancy services to market together.
Built Environment covers building consultancy, engineering, architecture and planning, cost and project management, land and development, geospatial and utility services, and expert advisory work. It follows the approach Gateley already uses in Gateley IP, which combines patent and trade mark attorneys with legal expertise.
The firm said the built environment accounts for around 24% of UK gross value added and about one in eight jobs, and expects planned government investment in housing, transport, energy, water, digital connectivity and infrastructure to create sustained demand for the expertise.
