MEC Consulting Group has opened its fifth office as the multi-disciplinary technical consultancy builds on a record year of trading.
The company has launched its new London operation at Percy House on Gresse Street in Fitzrovia, initially offering lighting, flood risk and drainage services.
The office will be led by managing director Alex Bennett and MEC is already recruiting as it looks to establish a larger multi-disciplinary team in the capital.
Bennett said the expansion had been driven by growing demand from clients in London and the South East.
He said: “The decision to launch in London has been driven by our organic growth.
“Whilst we already have a strong presence in Brighton, recent demand within London has accelerated significantly, so we were confident this move would allow us to better support clients both within the city and across the wider South East.
“Following a record year of trading in 2025, the timing also felt right to build on that momentum and strengthen our profile in a key market.”
MEC has already worked on a series of projects across London and the South East, including civils infrastructure design for Sunset Studios in North London and ground investigation work connected to the rewilding of Northwall Road at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Its other projects include work on plans to redevelop the former Pumping Station at Laburnum Place in Sittingbourne into 26 apartments and the expansion of Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet.
The consultancy is also advising Richborough on strategic land sites across Essex and Kent with the potential to deliver more than 1,500 homes.
Bennett said: “Recent project wins have seen us deliver a diverse range of schemes across the region, and the pipeline continues to look healthy, particularly within residential development, which remains one of our specialisms.
“We are excited to launch London with two core disciplines, however seamless collaboration with established teams in our other offices means clients will have access to the full breadth of our expertise from day one.”
MEC ultimately plans to offer all ten of its services from London and is recruiting for several positions to support the expansion.
Bennett added: “We are already actively recruiting, including for an associate director to lead our Flood Risk & Drainage discipline, alongside other technical roles and experienced project managers, ensuring we can continue to deliver the high standards of client care and specialist expertise we are known for.”
