Manchester-based engineering consultancy, Morson Praxis, has been awarded Professional Services Framework Agreements with energy group EDF.

Following what was an extensive and highly competitive re-tendering exercise, Morson Praxis secured framework positions for Hinkley Point C, the Somerset nuclear power plant, and EDF Energy Nuclear Generation.

In addition, it has secured a parallel contract with Sizewell C, on the Suffolk coast, now established as a stand alone entity following its Final Investment Decision.

Morson Praxis said the latest award reinforces its long standing partnership in delivering high quality engineering support to EDF Energy over the past 14 years as Waldeck, and going forwards as Morson Praxis.

Richard Sargent, Morson Praxis’s nuclear new build director, said: “In addition to retaining our existing role supporting Hinkley Point C, which we previously delivered as Waldeck before our recent rebrand, we are delighted to have also been awarded a position on the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation framework.

“Most significantly, securing our role on Sizewell C represents a major milestone for the business.”

He added: “As a nationally significant infrastructure project and now a stand alone development, Sizewell C provides a unique opportunity for us to apply the expertise and lessons learned at Hinkley Point C to support its successful delivery.

“Together, these appointments position us strongly to contribute across both new build and operational programmes, supporting the nuclear sector at every stage of the asset lifecycle.”
