Staff at leading firms consistently highlighted workplaces where career progression is treated as a genuine priority rather than an afterthought. This year’s report found that room for career advancement is the single strongest predictor of overall employee satisfaction across all 16 nominees – more closely correlated than compensation, benefits, or culture. Across all categories, vacation leave and flexible working options were the most consistently valued benefits at every career stage.
The results land at a pivotal moment for the industry. With around 1.8 million fixed-rate mortgages due to mature in 2026, according to UK Finance‘s Mortgage Market Forecast, external remortgaging is forecast to climb 10% to £77 billion – even as the pool of experienced mortgage professionals continues to thin. Staff with 10 or more years’ tenure now make up just 13% of the workforce, down from 34% in 2024.
Quantum Mortgages has been named a Top Mortgage Employer for 2026, earning the recognition for the third consecutive year. The Milton Keynes-based buy-to-let specialist, which surpassed £1 billion in mortgage lending since launching in 2022, scored 87.2% for overall employee satisfaction, with its top-rated areas including safe work environment, commitment to diversity and inclusion, and culture.
LSL Financial Services – which operates the Primis, TMA, Novium and Linear brands and supports thousands of mortgage and protection advisers – has also been named among this year’s winners. The Solihull-based firm was recognised for a culture built on colleague voice, inclusive leadership and meaningful career development.
