Bridging lender CapitAll Finance has joined the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) as a lender member.
CapitAll Finance provides bridging, refurbishment, commercial and semi-commercial property finance to brokers, investors and property professionals. The bridging lender sources deals through brokers and handles underwriting, central credit control and capital deployment itself. It says its model keeps the broker relationship at the front of the transaction, while credit, execution and loan management stay with the lender.
The BDLA describes itself as the UK’s only trade association dedicated to representing bridging and development lenders and their customers. It promotes high standards and gives members a voice with government, regulators and the wider property finance market. Lender and associate members receive industry insight, networking, events and media activity, along with a chance to help shape the sector’s direction.
“Bridging relies heavily on the relationship between lenders and brokers and the success of the market is built on maintaining strong underwriting and credit disciplines behind that relationship,” said Adam Tyler, chief executive of the BDLA.
“Membership of the BDLA demonstrates a commitment to those relationships, and we’re delighted to welcome CapitAll Finance as our latest Lender Member.”
“The BDLA provides an important forum for lenders to discuss the issues that affect the market beyond individual transactions,” explained Richard Whitehouse, director at CapitAll Finance.
“After more than 28 years working across alternative finance and specialist lending, I have seen how important disciplined credit, sustainable funding and strong intermediary relationships are to building lending businesses for the long term.
“Those principles are central to how we are building CapitAll Finance. Our brokers benefit from the lending they originate for the life of the loan and keep their own client proposition front and centre, while we take responsibility for credit, funding and loan management.
“Joining the BDLA gives us the opportunity to share that experience, learn from other lenders and play an active role in the conversations that will shape the next stage of the specialist property finance market.”
