June 2026 will be a busy month for South Indian cinema with a number of big releases across the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada industries. Next month, theatres are preparing for a thrilling selection of films from high-budget action blockbusters to emotional coming-of-age stories and fantasy entertainers.
Here’s a look at the major South Indian films scheduled for a theatrical release in June 2026.
Peddi
Peddi featuring Ram Charan in lead role is one of the biggest releases of the month. Sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana is about a talented village youngster who is known for excelling in sports like cricket, wrestling and running. The film traces his journey of ambition, struggle and self-discovery.
The film also features Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu. Peddi is out June 4.
Parimala and Co
Director Pandiraj returns with a family comedy drama starring Jayaram, Urvashi, Mysskin and Yogi Babu.
The story is about a middle-class family whose everyday life is turned upside down when they find themselves in a strange situation. The film will be released on June 5.
Sing Geetam
The veteran filmmaker, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, directs this musical fantasy drama set in a mysterious village that is untouched by time. The film follows Prathap, a man whose arrival in the village slowly unearths hidden truths and conflicts between tradition and modernisation.
The film features Ahilya Bamroo and Ayaan K in pivotal roles and is scheduled to release on June 11.
Mollywood Times
Directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak, Mollywood Times centers on a young aspiring filmmaker who is obsessed with becoming the greatest horror director of Malayalam cinema.
The movie features Naslen, Sharaf U Dheen and Sangeeth Prathap. The coming-of-age comedy drama will be in theaters June 5.
Mango Pachacha
Mango Pachcha takes place from 2001 to 2011, and tells the story of a DVD shop owner from Mysuru who is pulled into a perilous world of ambition and circumstance.
Directed by Viveka Prakash, the film stars Sanchith Sanjeev and Kaajal Kunder in lead roles. The movie hits theaters June 5.
Varavu
Veteran director Shaji Kailas is back with a mystery action thriller starring Joju George, Arjun Ashokan and Saniya Iyappan.
The story is set in a politically charged hillside town where buried secrets, revenge and the return of a man intent on taking back what was taken from him are the norm. Varavu will hit the screens on June 12.
Maa Inti Bangaram
Samantha Ruth Prabhu stars in this female-fronted action comedy, directed by BV Nandini Reddy.
The film is about a woman who is trying to fit in with her husband’s family without revealing a deadly past. When trouble comes knocking at her door, she has to use her combat skills to protect her loved ones. The film opens in theatres on June 19.
Jana Nayagan
The film starring C Joseph Vijay in the lead role is one of the most awaited Tamil films of the year. Directed by H Vinoth, the action drama is said to focus on raising his foster daughter to be a brave army officer while facing personal and social obstacles. The movie is tentatively set to release on 19 June.
Balan

Directed by Chidambaram, the coming-of-age drama is about a teen who is trying to deal with the emotional scars of his mother’s mysterious disappearance.
The film stars Chandu Salimkumar, Ganapathi and Tovino Thomas and is scheduled to release on June 19, 2023.
Lenin
Lenin, an action drama, features Akhil Akkineni in the lead and is helmed by Murali Kishore Abburu.
The film delves into the rivalries of families, legacy and the emotional cost of living up to the expectations of generations. Lenin will be out June 26.
